The objective was simple, create a job that does not exist, and tailor a space just for it. I've always felt restricted with every program that was forced on me, so I decided to make this project worthwhile. The Environment Designer's job is to create a space for any passer-by, to not only enter, but choose the space he wants to enter into. No more google-ing "Tourism in India", all you have to do is take an appointment, show up, and the environment designer will have India ready for you on that precise day and time. Using LCD screens in the shape of beams with certain textile-inducing technology, he will allow you to experience the space in terms of color palettes, textures, and sounds at first. As you go inside and visit the upper floor, you will start to realize the beams straightening up and unraveling into a perfect cube, where you can experience the whole virtual reality of the setting you wished to see. The whole concept is staging the experience from reality to virtual reality, as if you are actually exerting effort to get to where you want to go, to make it a more realistic but ironically not so-realistic experience.
